Volunteers Are Integral

Volunteers are integral to helping us meet the needs of the thousands of clients we serve each year and our mission to create opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired. If you’d like to get involved in helping us achieve our goals and becoming a part of our community of care, consider becoming a volunteer.

We have opportunities for direct service to clients for volunteers who want to work one-on-one with a person in one of our programs, or we have a variety of other opportunities for you to help. We offer ongoing chances for you to engage with us including client engagement, administrative assistance and operations support. We also offer one-time volunteer opportunities through special events, internal organizational events, and corporate volunteer and team building activities.  All on-site one-time volunteer opportunities include a tour of our facility.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers who wish to be involved on a regular basis provide essential support to meet the needs of our comprehensive rehabilitation and employment programs. Continual opportunities include working directly with clients within the Bosma Rehabilitation Center, providing administrative support to program staff, assisting with our Bosma Connections Program serving senior citizens, and conducting mock interviews for our clients seeking employment.

Special Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers can assist us with the following special event fundraisers: Dining in the Dark (April 2016), The Bosma Visionary Golf Classic (July 2016), and The Thomas C. Hasbrook Award Luncheon (November 2016).  Bosma also requests volunteers for internal organizational events such as the Annual Employee Picnic, Annual Employee Holiday Party, and rehabilitation events throughout the year. Special events are a great way to get involved if you have a restrictive schedule or are not available during our general hours of operation.

Corporate Volunteer Opportunities

We provide a host of corporate volunteer opportunities hosting groups of up to 20 people for 2-4 hours at a time. All corporate volunteers get the opportunity to tour our facility to learn more about the variety of programs and services we offer at Bosma Enterprises. We also offer specific client engagement experiences and team building activities for corporate volunteers through our Business Honor Roll Program.
