Don’t Trust AI

I don’t trust Artificial Intelligence (AI) and neither should you. AI is a powerful tool, but it’s only as reliable as the people behind it. For expert guidance on integrating AI and navigating your IT or Salesforce needs, reach out to Bosma at [email protected].

Working Through Blindness

This is a story about two women – one at the beginning of her career, and one preparing for her second career. Both are visually impaired.

Meet the Instructors

Bosma Instructors John Manyik and Amy Planalp

We take great pride in the success of our clients at Bosma, but their success is largely due to the success of our dedicated employees. What follows is the story of two of those people. One works internally at Bosma’s Center for the Visionary Solutions, and the other is an itinerant (traveling) teacher who visits clients throughout the state.

Un Nuevo Comienzo (A New Start)

Randall packaging gloves on the glove production line at Bosma

Randall Castro and his family immigrated to the United States from Costa Rica when he was 36 years old and totally blind. Born with retinitis pigmentosa, Randall didn’t experience any debilitating vision issues until his early 20’s. He owned a transportation business, was married, and had two children. But by age 28, he had lost his vision, his company, and his self-esteem.

“I didn’t know what I needed.”

Richard Johnson

Why me?

Anyone who has lost their vision asks the same question. For Richard, who had lived a life of service to others, it was particularly poignant. He had counseled, cried, and argued with thousands of lost souls who were struggling with addiction and its fallout, only to find himself wondering why God dealt him this hand.

You’ve Got This

Shonika Bolden

When Shonika Bolden came to Bosma last year, she was scared to death. Since becoming blind, she hadn’t gone anywhere by herself. This spring, Shonika and her son, will move into their new apartment close to Bosma, and she’s looking forward to beginning her new life.

“I Didn’t Think I’d Ever Work Again.”

Daniel Diaz

Like many who are visually impaired, Daniel Diaz didn’t think he needed help. He was getting by at the job he held for 21 years before his degenerative eye condition (retinitis pigmentosa) forced him to make a hard decision.

Support Is The Key To Success

Connie Michaels

Every month Bosma highlights the success of a client who has gone through one or more of our rehabilitation programs. The stories are meant to inspire and encourage others who are struggling on their journey with vision loss. These stories of courage and commitment are compelling. Still, each one will tell you their success would not have happened without the instruction, guidance, and coaching of Bosma’s dedicated staff.
