The need is great
The need is great – and growing – especially for the Bosma Center for Visionary Solutions. We expect the demand for our services to increase significantly over the next three to four years. And, for people facing vision loss, COVID-19 restrictions have created additional obstacles that contribute to their already vulnerable state:
- Working and studying from home, shopping and even a recreational walk outside are not always easy for people who are blind because of lack of access to adaptive technology, inaccessible environments and changes to long-established routines.
- In addition, the unemployment rate among people who are blind or visually impaired is anticipated to increase due to COVID-19.
Being unemployed not only has a devastating impact on individuals with vision loss but also on their ability to provide for their families and be productive members of society. Our programs and services are changing lives and providing hope. They are only possible through the generous support of corporate, foundation and individual donors, who provide grants, sponsorships and donations to the Bosma Visionary Opportunities Foundation.
The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and Type 1 supporting organization. All donations go to programs and services for Hoosiers with vision loss. Funds donated to the Foundation may be tax-deductible. Speak with your tax preparer about all deductions.
